Welcome to the home of Esports for the City of Lakeland! This program aims to provide opportunities to the community for video game enthusiasts while creating STEM training accessible to all. We are dedicated to providing a safe space for all ages to utilize technology, interact with others, and HAVE FUN! We are excited to see how this program can grow.     S.T.E.M. ESPORTS
    Coleman-Bush Building - MIDFLORIDA Esports Center
    This class is designed to help tutor young minds in critical thinking skills while they learn the Game of Chess and S.T.E.M. eSports Games.
    Monday-Friday
    4:00 - 5:00 PM
    FREE - Registration required. 
    Offered during the regular school year.

    ESPORTS GAMES
    Coleman-Bush Building - MIDFLORIDA Esports Center
    ESports offers a blend of gameplay, skill development, strategy training, and physical wellness activities tailored specifically for young gamers. Designed for Kindergarten to 8th graders.
    Monday-Friday
    5:00 - 6:00 PM
    FREE - Registration required. 
    Offered during the regular school year.

Esports Leagues

The City of Lakeland is excited to introduce League Play to our ESports programming as a place for novice and experienced gamers throughout Florida to come together and battle it out for dominance in their favorite games. Our tournaments cover a wide range of popular esports titles such as Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Madden NFL 26. Join today ... where gamers become heroes!

Ages: 12-17
Participants: Teams or individuals may register. Unaffiliated players will be assigned to teams as they become available. 

  • SPRING ESPORTS LEAGUE

    SPRING ESPORTS LEAGUE

    Registration for 2026 Spring Season: December 1st, 2025, to January 30th, 2026
    Practice Nights are offered during August.
    Game Schedule: February 24th, 2026 to May 7th, 2026
    $25 per child per game category.
    Equipment recommended: Bring your PC gaming controller if you have one. House controllers will be available if needed.

    This Tuesday Night League will be playing with Duo Teams from the Florida Esports Rec League
    6:00 – 7:30 PM 
    Team Requirements: 2-person Teams.
    Games: 8 Matches are guaranteed per season.
    Playoffs: Top Teams in the playoffs at the end of each season.
    Awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place awarded trophies

Camp S.T.E.M.

  • Camp S.T.E.M. (Grades 3 - 7)

    Join the City of Lakeland for its first S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) day camp. It will offer an immersive educational experience designed to engage campers. 

    This program will offer a unique camp experience that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

    Open to Grades 3 through 7
    Must have completed 2nd grade (this school year) and not yet entered 8th grade.

    Schedule

    Monday - Friday (No camp on Juneteenth, June 19)
    Drop off no earlier than 7:30 AM
    Pick-up no later than 5:30 PM

    Week 1 - Science with Coding/Robots
    June 2 - 6

    Week 2 - Technology with Coding/Robots
    June 9 - 13

    Week 3 - Engineering with Coding/Robots
    June 16 - 20 (No Camp June 19)

    Week 4 - Mathematics with Coding/Robots
    June 23 - 27

  • Registration (opens March 31)

    For registration:

    • Registration opens March 31 at 9 AM for all four sessions.
    • Space is limited and filled first come, first served.
    • Registration for one week does not guarantee placement in any other weeks.
    • Have your camper's most recent report card available for upload during the registration process. (This camp is open to grades 3 - 7)
    • Payment is due in full at the time of registration.

    Teamwork and Collaboration
    Many activities require teamwork, promoting collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.

    Inspiration and Exploration
    Exposure to diverse S.T.E.M. topics and interactions with professionals inspire campers to explore new interests and consider future career paths.

    Instructors and Staff
    The camp is led by experienced instructors who will provide guidance, instruction, and mentorship, ensuring that campers receive the support they need to thrive.

Camp Esports 

  • Camp Esports (Grades 7 - 12)

    Join the City of Lakeland for its first Esports day camp. This program will offer a blend of gameplay, skill development, strategy training, and physical wellness activities tailored specifically for young gamers. It will foster teamwork, sportsmanship, critical thinking, and communication skills within competitive gaming. Throughout the sessions, campers participate in friendly tournaments and competitions in the game of the week (session weeks broken down in the schedule section below), allowing them to apply their skills in a competitive setting while fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants.

    * Participants registering and paying for all 4 weeks receive a 25% discount (= $300).  All four weeks must be paid in full at registration to receive the discount.

    Schedule

    Monday - Friday (No camp on Independence Day - July 4)
    Drop off no earlier than 7:30 AM
    Pick-up no later than 5:30 PM

    June 30 – July 4 (No Camp July 4)

    Week 2 - Fortnite
    July 7 - 11

    Week 3 - Overwatch
    July 14 - 18

    Week 4 - Valorant
    June 21 - 25

    Exposure to professionals within the esports industry provides campers with insights into potential career paths in gaming, esports management, content creation, and more.

    Instructors and Staff
    The camp is led by a team of experienced esports coaches, gaming enthusiasts, and certified instructors who are passionate about both gaming and education. They provide guidance, instruction, and mentorship to help campers maximize their potential and enjoy a rewarding camp experience.
