Welcome to the home of Esports for the City of Lakeland! This program aims to provide opportunities to the community for video game enthusiasts while creating STEM training accessible to all. We are dedicated to providing a safe space for all ages to utilize technology, interact with others, and HAVE FUN! We are excited to see how this program can grow.     S.T.E.M. ESPORTS
    This class is designed to help tutor young minds in critical thinking skills while they learn the Game of Chess and S.T.E.M. eSports Games.
    Monday-Friday
    4:00 - 5:00 PM
    FREE - Registration required. 
    Offered during the regular school year.

    ESPORTS GAMES
    ESports offers a blend of gameplay, skill development, strategy training, and physical wellness activities tailored specifically for young gamers. Designed for Kindergarten to 8th graders.
    Monday-Friday
    5:00 - 6:00 PM
    FREE - Registration required. 
    Offered during the regular school year.

Esports Leagues

The City of Lakeland is excited to introduce League Play to our ESports programming as a place for novice and experienced gamers throughout Central Florida to come together and battle it out for dominance in their favorite games. Our tournaments cover a wide range of popular esports titles such as Fortnite, Overwatch, Valorant, Brawlhalla, Rocket League, NBA 2K25, and Madden NFL 25. Join today ... where gamers become heroes!

Ages: 12-17
Participants: Teams or individuals may register. Unaffiliated players will be assigned to teams as they become available. 

  • SPRING ESPORTS LEAGUE

    Registration for Spring Season: January 1st to January 25th
    Practice Nights are offered during February.
    Game Schedule: March 3rd to April 30th, 2025
    $25 per child
    Equipment recommended: Bring your PC gaming controller if you have one. House controllers will be available if needed.

    Rocket League (3v3):

    Monday Nights
    6:00 - 8:00 PM 
    Team Requirements: 3-person Teams (one sub allowed). Six teams max.
    Games: 8 Matches are guaranteed per season, with 5 games per match.
    Winners: Best out of 5 games per match wins the night.
    Playoffs: Top 3 Teams in the playoffs at the end of each season.
    Awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place awarded trophies

    Tuesday Nights (Central Florida Pros)
    This Tuesday Night League will be playing with Duo Teams from other Central Florida Counties.
    6:00 - 8:00 PM  
    Team Requirements: 2-person teams (no subs). Ten teams max.
    Games: 8 Matches are guaranteed per season, with five games per
    match.
    Maps: Online custom maps and custom loadouts.
    Winners: The best out of 5 games per match wins the night.
    Playoffs: Top 3 Teams in the playoffs at the end of each
    season.
    Awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awarded trophies.

    Winners: The best out of 3 games per match wins the night.

Camp S.T.E.M.

  • Camp S.T.E.M. (Grades 3 - 8)

    Join the City of Lakeland for its first S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) day camp. It will offer an immersive educational experience designed to engage campers. 

    This program will offer a unique camp experience that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

    Open to Grades 3 through 8
    Must have completed 2nd grade (this school year) and not yet entered 8th grade.


    Schedule

    Monday - Friday (No camp on Juneteenth, June 19)
    Drop off no earlier than 7:30 AM
    Pick-up no later than 5:30 PM

    Week 1 - Science
    June 3 - 7

    Week 2 - Technology
    June 10 - 14

    Week 3 - Engineering
    June 17 - 21 (No Camp June 19)

    Week 4 - Mathematics
    June 25 - 29

    • Registration opens May 6 at 9 AM for all four sessions.
    • Space is limited and filled first come, first served.
    • Registration for one week does not guarantee placement in any other weeks.
    • Have your camper's most recent report card available for upload during the registration process. (This camp is open to grades 3 - 8)
    • Payment is due in full at the time of registration.

Camp Esports 

  • Camp Esports (Grades 6 - 12)

    Join the City of Lakeland for its first Esports day camp. This program will offer a blend of gameplay, skill development, strategy training, and physical wellness activities tailored specifically for young gamers. It will foster teamwork, sportsmanship, critical thinking, and communication skills within competitive gaming. Throughout the sessions, campers participate in friendly tournaments and competitions in the game of the week (session weeks broken down in the schedule section below), allowing them to apply their skills in a competitive setting while fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants.

    Monday - Friday (No camp on Independence Day - July 4)
    Drop off no earlier than 7:30 AM
    Pick-up no later than 5:30 PM

    Week 1 - Fortnite
    July 1 – 5 (No Camp July 4)

    Week 2 - Rocket League
    July 8 – 12

    Week 3 - Overwatch
    July 15 - 19

    Week 4 - Valorant
    June 22 – 26

    The camp is led by a team of experienced esports coaches, gaming enthusiasts, and certified instructors who are passionate about both gaming and education. They provide guidance, instruction, and mentorship to help campers maximize their potential and enjoy a rewarding camp experience.
