Simpson Park Community Center Features:

This indoor/outdoor facility allows the Parks and Recreation Department the opportunity to provide comprehensive recreation programming to suit the varied needs and interests of the North Lakeland Community. Instructional classes, sports leagues, recreational play, fitness, and special event programming ensure constant activities.

Parks and Recreation scan cards are required for all activities and classes. Due to limited enrollment, pre-registration and pre-payment is recommended and sometimes required for classes.

  • Fees

    Fees are for weight room & gymnasium activities only; class fees are separate.

    • $5 per visit
    • $40 per 20-visit gym & fitness room pass (purchasing a pass saves you money!)
    • ACTIVITY PASS (Semi-Annual or Annual Pass) Covers Weight rooms, Cardio Rooms, Open Swim, Lap Swim, Open Tennis and any Health and Fitness Class with the  in front of the class

      Ages 14-59 (Individual) $150/$300

      Ages 60 and up (individual) $120/$240

      Family (Two adults up to the age of 59 living in same household plus any legal dependents) $400/$740

    All guests must check-in upon entering the Simpson Park Community Center and sign a waiver of liability to participate.

    Game Room:

    • All ages FREE
  • Weightroom & Cardio Room Rules
    • The minimum age is 15.
    • Participants 12-14 years of age may work out if accompanied by a parent or guardian, 18 and up.
    • Anyone under the age of 12 cannot use the fitness rooms due to insurance requirements.
    • All participants are encouraged to consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.

    Top-quality Pro Maxima weight machines including leg extensions, leg sled, cable-crossover, biceps, chest press, free weight station, treadmills, elliptical and more.

    ZUMBA  
    Get ready to have fun, break a sweat, and get moving! Let’s groove with great music, energy, and community!
    Tuesdays
    9 AM – 10 AM

    CHAIR YOGA  
    Chair Yoga uses seated and standing poses to increase flexibility, balance, and range of motion.  No mat is required. Please wear supportive shoes or sneakers. Free to Silver Sneakers members, open to ages 16 and up.
    Wednesdays
    11 AM – 12 PM

    YOGA  
    No experience is needed! Ages 16 and up. Bring water, a towel, and a mat.
    Mondays & Wednesdays
    10 AM – 11 AM

    MENTORING THROUGH MODELING
    This program has one mission - to assist individuals with improving all aspects of self-awareness. M2 is an empowering environment committed to expanding the confidence, comprehension, and decorum needed to navigate through everyday life, through modeling, and more! 
    The 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month

    YOUTH DRIVEN BY PURPOSE
    The Next Generation Leaders Program is the signature YDP program designed to equip youth and young adults with life skills as they prepare for adulthood. We focus on social skills, career readiness, healthy living, financial stewardship, diversity, and a culture of service.
    The 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month
    6 PM – 7:30 PM

    MULTICULTURAL EVERYDAY LIFE SKILLS
    This program is created to teach young ladies everyday life skills needed to be successful. We focus on self-confidence, managing money, preparing meals, and much more.

    S.D. MCARTHUR AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
    A safe, stress-free environment to help children sharpen common core skills learned in the classroom. We provide homework help and enrichment activities to help children stay at the top of their class. Healthy snacks are provided daily. Elementary only.

  • Martial Arts Classes

    WOMEN'S SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES
    At Base Defense, we believe that every woman should feel safe, strong, and empowered. Our training program is designed to meet the unique needs of women, with a focus on practical techniques and strategies that are effective in real-world scenarios. You will develop the ability to neutralize the most common threats against women as identified by law enforcement and survivors of assault, such as hair grabs, choke-holds, bear hugs, and more.|
    Join us to enhance your personal safety, boost your confidence, and reduce your risk of becoming a target.

  • Clubs, Hobbies & Enrichment Programming

    HUSH JUST BRUSH
    Come enjoy an instructor-led evening of painting with a flow of jazz and finger snacks.
    Limited spots are available; class registration opens the first Friday of the month, and class registration closes the Thursday prior to the class date.

    TABLE TENNIS CLUB
    Lakeland Table Tennis Association welcomes you to play competitive table tennis.

    • All users must check in before being permitted to use the fitness areas and gymnasium.
