Public Notice: Water Main Break - 3405 S Florida Avenue

WHEN: Today (April 6th); the break will take approximately 4-6 hours to repair
LAKELAND, FL (April 6, 2021) | City Crews are working to repair a 12” water main break in the vicinity of 3405 South Florida Avenue. The break is impacting Merchants Walk, Wal-Mart, Hooters Restaurant, Kelly Recreation Complex and possibly the Taco Bell on South Florida Avenue. The southbound lane in the 400’ section of roadway impacted by the break has been detoured to the center turning lane while crews are work diligently to make the necessary repairs. Works crews on-site estimate the water main break will take 4-6 hours to repair.
Today, April 6th a Municipal Election is taking place for the City Commissioner District D Southeast seat and Kelly Recreation Complex is a polling location. All eligible voters living inside the Lakeland corporate limits can vote during a municipal election. The polls at Kelly Recreation Complex are open and will remain open until the polls close at 7 p.m. Gandy Pool is closed to visitors while the water main repair is taking place because water cannot be circulated in the pool at this time and a portion of Kelly Recreation Complex is closed but again, polls will not be impacted by the closure.
