City Offices* will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 3, 2020. Certain Parks & Recreation facilities will remain open, however. 

LAKELAND, FL (July 2, 2020) | On Thursday, July 2, 2020, the Lakeland City Commission held a Specially Called City Commission Meeting to discuss a resolution that would require masks/face coverings consistent with CDC guidelines for those individuals inside the Lakeland corporate limits.  The City Commission voted 5-2 in favor of the resolution with Commissioner Franklin and Commissioner Read being the dissenting votes.

LAKELAND, FL (June 17, 2020) | The Lakeland City Commission will host a community forum on race relations on Monday, June 29^th at the RP Funding Center Youkey Theater from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.  The forum will be set-up to allow the community to share their views on issues of race and equality. 

LAKELAND, FL (June 16, 2020) | The City of Lakeland anticipates applying for Rebuild Florida Critical Facility Hardening Program (CFHP) funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support long-term mitigation efforts by assisting the State of Florida and its local governments in minimizing or eliminating the risks and reducing losses from future disasters.
