Solid Waste Service Rates

• October 1, 2025 Solid Waste Rate Changes Explained

  City of Lakeland's solid waste rates have remained unchanged since 2015, while the costs of providing these essential services have continued to increase. To maintain this reliable service, the City Commission adjusted rates to cover rising expenses we have been absorbing over the last 10 years, such as, truck costs, personnel expenses and waste disposal fees.

• Residential Single Family

  Automated Trash Collection

  • 95 Gallon Container $19.61* 
  • 65 Gallon Container $18.34*
  • 35 Gallon Container $17.08*

  * There is a reduced rate for additional containers.

  ---

  Automated Recycling Collection

  • $3.60* per 65 or 35 Gallon Container

  * There is no reduced rate for additional containers. The $3.60 per month fee is charged to all active residential accounts whether the cart is used or not.

  ---

  Bulk Yard Waste/Junk Collection

  Bulk Yard Waste or Bulk Junk Collections in excess of four (4) free collections per calendar year is $13.81 per cubic yard, with a $30.66 minimum.

  The calendar year runs from January 1 through December 31.

   

  All rates effective 10/1/2025.

• Additional Trash & Recycling Fees

  Customers requiring trash collections beyond the four additional extra collections per calendar year shall incur a $17.25 fee per request.

  Customers placing contaminants into their recycling container shall incur a $17.25 fee to dump the container as garbage per occurrence.

• Residential Multi-Family

  Automated Trash Collection

  The calendar year runs from January 1 through December 31.

• Roll-Off and Compactor
  • Delivery Charge - $68.00
  • Pull Charge - $149.59 plus disposal charges
  • Disposal Charge - Direct pass through billed by disposal site including tonnage
  • Surcharge - There will be a 15% Surcharge on Gross Billing
  • *Rental (if not serviced in 30 days) - $2.61 per day
  • *Miscellaneous Trip Charge - $40.80 per trip 

  * These fees do not apply to normal pull and return service on city owned roll-off containers

• Commercial Dumpster
  • Commercial Garbage Dumpster Service - 6.0375 per cubic yard per collection

    • Bulk Junk Collections in excess of four (4) free collections per year is $13.81 per cubic yard, with a $30.66 minimum.

• Commercial Mixed Recycling
  • Mixed Recycling Dumpster Collection - 2.829 per cubic yard per collection.
