LAKELAND, FL (June 16, 2020) | The City of Lakeland anticipates applying for Rebuild Florida Critical Facility Hardening Program (CFHP) funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support long-term mitigation efforts by assisting the State of Florida and its local governments in minimizing or eliminating the risks and reducing losses from future disasters.

LAKELAND, FL (June 4, 2020) | The organizers for Black Lives Matter Polk have successfully submitted an event request form with the City of Lakeland to hold a protest march on Sunday, June 7^th starting at 2:30 p.m. The march will start at Lakewood Terrace Apartments on 14^th Street and will ultimately end at Munn Park, traveling approximately three miles to the final destination.  Another group will start at Webster Park, 1255 Webster Avenue, and join the protest march at 10^th Street.

Lugo's Craft Spirits is a family-owned and operated distillery in the heart of Lakeland that specializes in developing craft rum spirits. During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the company started producing hand sanitizer as a way to assist in meeting the high demand for the product.
