Public Notice: Immediate Emergency Sewer Repair - Lake Avenue
LAKELAND, FL (April 27, 2022) | An emergency sewer repair will start immediately along Lake Avenue just south of Main Street, in front of the Texas Cattle Company restaurant. City of Lakeland Wastewater crews are at the location now prepping to start work. At this time, the exact detail of what is causing the issue is unknown and crews will need to dig up the sewer to find what is causing the blockage. Texas Cattle Company called to report a backup and responding City of Lakeland trouble crews determined that there is a blockage on the City maintained side of the sewer system. Crews attempted to clear the blockage, but it was determined that the issue would require a physical repair. Repair crews will need to dig up the roadway to fully assess the situation. Once the issue has been determined, crews will work overnight to repair the sewer. The extent of the closure is not known at this time and an update will be sent in the morning.
