Death Investigation
LAKELAND, FL (March 19, 2021) - Detectives with the Lakeland Police Department are currently working a death investigation stemming from an event that occurred earlier this week. On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 7-11 at 2580 Kathleen Road in reference to a physical altercation between two adult males, ages 72 and 41. One adult male, age 41, was transported from the location to Lakeland Regional Health with serious injuries. He succumbed to injuries late Thursday evening.
All parties involved in the altercation have been identified. At this time, no arrests have been made. Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses from the scene.
