LAKELAND, FL (January 8, 2024) | The City of Lakeland will begin construction to install a nutrient-separating pollution control device (PCD) at an existing drainage outfall to Lake Bonny.  The project site is located on the north side of North Crystal Lake Drive near the intersection of US Highway 98 North. 

LAKELAND, FL (January 5, 2024) | The City of Lakeland will start the paving process on South Boulevard, Success Avenue and East Park Street starting January 15, 2024.

LAKELAND, FL (January 4, 2024) | Over 10 years ago, the City of Lakeland moved to a consolidated online application system for building permit, planning, code enforcement, and business tax receipt functions within the Community and Economic Development Department.  This system will be replaced on January 22, 2024 with a new, more robust platform. The new iMS platform replaces the older and outdated eTrakit system. iMS stands for Intuitive Municipal Solutions and the new system promises to have rich customer friendly features and an easy to navigate interface for the end user.

This FREE, hands-on, interactive public information program allows citizens to gain insight into City services and the functions of City Departments. The Citizens Academy program consists of seven (7), two (2) hour evening sessions.

Bartow, Fla. (December 15, 2023) | A large drainage pipe being installed as part of Polk County’s West Pipkin Road widening project will close Airside Center Drive in south Lakeland near the GEICO Corporate Office and Lakeland Linder Airport for 11 days starting Tuesday, December 19. 

LAKELAND, FL (December 15, 2023) | The City of Lakeland is pleased to announce that an agreement package has been reached between Lakeland Linder International Airport (LLIA), Visit Central Florida (VCF) and Avelo Airlines that paves the way for the return of commercial passenger air service.  The agreement package goes before the Lakeland City Commission for approval on Monday, December 18, 2023.

LAKELAND, FL (December 12, 2023) | The City of Lakeland will be paving East Highland Drive between South Florida Avenue and Cleveland Heights Boulevard as part of the roadway preventative maintenance schedule.
