LAKELAND, FL (March 18, 2021) | Construction continues on Summit Consulting’s new eight-story, 135,000 square foot office building located on 1.2 acres at 117 N. Massachusetts Avenue on Lake Mirror in downtown Lakeland. On March 19^th, general contractors will be topping off the shell of this building with the final pour of concrete on the rooftop level.

LAKELAND, FL (March 12, 2021) | A contractor (K&R) working for the City of Lakeland and the Florida Department of Transportation will be closing the shoulder on a portion of US 92/George Jenkins Boulevard between Wabash Avenue and Chestnut Street for drainage improvements.

 LAKELAND, FL (March 4, 2021) | The intersection at Fairbanks Street and W. Bella Vista Street is scheduled to be closed for 30-days starting Monday, March 8^th.  The City’s road contractor, Cobb Site Development Inc., will be reconstructing the intersection of Fairbanks Street and Bella Vista Street as part of the new North Wabash Avenue Extension.

LAKELAND, FL (March 1, 2021) | Swan Nesting Season is upon us in Lakeland, and we have a very rare occurrence on Lake Morton. The lone male Black Neck Swan that lost his mate during nesting season last year has wooed a new mate. This is very rare among swans to not only find a new mate, but also couple with a bird that is not the exact same species. 

LAKELAND, FL (February 25, 2021) | A contractor (Wright of Florida, LLC) working for the City of Lakeland will be closing a portion of Wabash Avenue between US 92/George Jenkins Boulevard and Lanier Street for the relocation and replacement of three large electric transmission poles.

LAKELAND, FL – (February 17, 2021) | The City of Lakeland has been awarded a grant of $100,000 from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) as part of its annual Cooperative Funding Initiative (CFI) grant program for the Crystal Lake Water Quality Improvement Study.  The CFI program provides funding to local governments to cover up to 50% of costs for water quality improvement and flood control projects.  The project consists of a feasibility study to evaluate nutrient reduction sediment treatment options to improve water quality in Crystal Lake.
