LAKELAND, FL (June 8, 2021) | City Manager Shawn Sherrouse appointed Brian Rewis as Interim Director of Community & Economic Development. Sherrouse said, “As the Assistant Director, Brian is intimately familiar with the responsibilities of the Department, and he is an advocate for our customers and the citizens we serve. LAKELAND, FL (June 4, 2021) | The City of Lakeland’s Division of Solid Waste is starting a new program where a Recycling Superstar will be named each quarter. Starting later this month, recycling truck drivers will get together to identify a specific household on their route that does everything right with their recycling.

LAKELAND, FL (May 20, 2021) | An emergency intersection closure is in place at South Kentucky Avenue and Lime Street. The closure is immediate with barricades being placed right now because it was discovered late yesterday evening that the sewer lines coming out of the manhole in the middle of the intersection have partially collapsed.

LAKELAND, FL (May 19, 2021) – There is a road closure scheduled to begin June 14, 2021 where Wabash Avenue intersects with 10th Street. The closure will be 24-hours-per-day for approximately 150 days (5 months). The entire intersection will be closed for the duration of the work.
