Public Notice: Florida Duck Hunting Season Begins September 19
LAKELAND, FL (September 17, 2026) - The City of Lakeland is reminding residents and visitors that Florida’s 2026–27 duck hunting season begins Saturday, September 19. During the season, residents may notice increased hunting activity around permitted hunting areas and waterways.
2026–27 Duck Hunting Season
- September 19–23: Teal and wood duck only
- November 21–29: Regular duck season
- December 12–Jan. 31: Regular duck season
Residents and visitors enjoying Lakeland’s lakes, waterways and surrounding areas are encouraged to be aware of hunting activity and use caution near permitted hunting areas.
Hunters are responsible for following all applicable Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) rules and regulations, including licensing requirements, permitted hunting locations, season dates and bag limits.
