Public Notice: Traffic Advisory - I-4 at SR 33 Westbound Pacing Operations and I-4 Eastbound Exit 38 Off-Ramp to be Closed
Lakeland, Fla. | On Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 12 AM to 8 AM, there will be a pacing operation along westbound Interstate 4. The pacing operations will begin at I-4 westbound from Osceola County to Lakeland Hills Blvd (Exit 33).
On Monday, July 21, 2025, crews will close the Exit 38 eastbound off-ramp, and a detour will be in place from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am on July 21 and July 22, weather permitting, and tentative alternate dates for July 23 and July 24. The detour will begin at Exit 33 at I-4 following northeast on SR 33 (Lakeland Hills Blvd), returning to Exit 38 to continue eastbound.
Project improvements include interchange improvements, installation of roundabouts along SR 33, and the addition of two wildlife crossings on SR 33 and I-4. This week, crews will work on utilities, drainage, and roadway grading.
