We will accept items such as paints, paint thinners, fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, insecticides, household batteries, and more. Please note: Biohazard (medical) waste and business waste will not be accepted.

End-of-Life Electronics – Accepted Materials
Items accepted include computers, monitors, keyboards, terminals, televisions, stereos, printers, fax machines, video game consoles, wireless devices, and more. We ask that households limit electronic waste to five items.

Other Acceptable Materials Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Auto and boat batteries
  • Fuel and gas cylinders
  • Used oil and antifreeze
  • Pesticides
  • Mercury and fluorescent lights
  • Flares
  • Used cooking oil

Tires will also be accepted (up to 24 per vehicle).

Gene Ginn, Manager of Solid Waste, emphasized the importance of proper disposal: “Improperly disposing of household hazardous waste can pollute the environment and pose health risks. These materials can injure sanitation workers and contaminate septic systems or wastewater treatment plants if discarded improperly. That’s why it’s so important to have these events for safe disposal.”
