City News Blog: City Of Lakeland Announces Free Parking for Downtown Service Industry Workers
LAKELAND, FL (February 19, 2025) | The City of Lakeland is pleased to offer free parking for downtown service industry workers at the designated parking lot located at 455 South Tennessee Avenue. This initiative aims to support local businesses and their employees by providing convenient and cost-free parking options.
To access this free parking benefit, businesses and employers must complete an application available from the Parking Office, located at the Main Street Parking Garage (314 East Main Street). Eligible businesses include those employing workers in industries such as food service, retail, cleaning, hospitality, entertainment, protective services, and personnel services. Once approved, businesses and their employees can park free of charge in the South Tennessee Avenue lot. Additionally, the South Tennessee Avenue lot features free four-hour parking and is serviced by the Citrus Connection Squeeze shuttle with their mid-day lunch service from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., Monday – Friday. The Squeeze also offers a weekend service with additional boarding points on Fridays from 4–11 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m.– 3 p.m. and 4–11 p.m. The shuttle’s golf carts accommodate up to seven passengers.
