Public Notice: Portion of Cleveland Heights Boulevard Impacted by Paving Projects
LAKELAND, FL (June 27, 2024) | The City of Lakeland will continue the phased Cleveland Heights Boulevard paving project starting Monday, July 22, 2024. The preventative maintenance project will include milling Cleveland Heights Boulevard between Westover Street and Lake Miriam Drive. Milling removes the asphalt surface to the base. It is estimated that this work will take at least four days to complete. Milling before paving is common practice and prevents driveway and ADA ramp adjustments due to increasing pavement heights. Once the roadway is milled, paving is scheduled to start Monday, July 29, 2024, and is expected to take four days to complete.
This project will be performed during daylight hours to least impact residents. As soon as work is completed each day, the road will open to through traffic. Drivers can expect delays for the duration of the project. Motorist are encouraged to use alternative routes even though the road will remain open during the project. Cleveland Heights Boulevard will be down to one lane with flagging operations directing traffic around the convoy of equipment as contractors mill and pave the roadway.
The portion of Cleveland Heights Boulevard between Westover Street and Lake Miriam Drive was last resurfaced over 20 years ago. Cleveland Heights Boulevard between Edgewood Drive and Lake Hollingsworth Drive was resurfaced earlier this year.
