LAKELAND, FL (February 21, 2024) | SUN n FUN Aerospace Expo is celebrating its 50th Fly-In this year! There are plenty of fan-favorite attractions returning along with several new experiences that will debut at this year’s Expo, April 9-14, 2024. The celebration kicks off with an opening day concert featuring country music performer Dylan Scott and special guest Sara Evans playing live for an unforgettable evening of entertainment at 6 p.m., Tuesday April 9, 2024. The concert is included with the daily admission to the SUN n FUN Expo, offering attendees an exceptional entertainment experience as part of the milestone 50th Fly-In celebration.
The Expo will showcase over 600 acres of static displays with all types of aircraft that will include Vintage, Homebuilt, Aerobatic, Warbird, Military, Light Sport, Seaplanes, and Rotorcraft. The Future ‘n Flight Plaza is a new feature with a focus on innovative technology, aviation careers, and flight simulation. Children will enjoy a newly established Aviation Playground that promises to inspire.
Throughout the six-day event, daily airshows include spectacular military demonstrations by the USAF Thunderbirds, the US Navy F-18 Super Hornet Demo Team, Tora Tora Tora WWII history demonstration, commemorative Air Force Warbirds, and the precision Ghost Squadron jet team. The Wednesday and Saturday night airshows will be just as riveting, featuring aerobatics by world-class airshow performers, pyrotechnics, and dazzling firework displays. A special appearance will be made by the four-engine, tri-tailed Lockheed VC-121A Constellation, nicknamed “The Connie,” a meticulously restored 1948 transport that once served the military, Presidents, and NASA. The Commemorative Air Force will offer rides on several legendary warbirds like the B-29 Super Fortress, B-24 Liberator, P-51 Mustang, and RC-45J Expeditor.
Over 500 exhibitors will present an expansive lineup of aviation-related products and services. Pilots and maintainers will benefit from hands-on workshops focused on maintenance skills, aircraft building, and dozens of topical forums for the aviation enthusiast. Youth will have an opportunity to engage in hands-on STEM activities including flight simulation, robotics, drones, and wing building. There is truly something for everybody at the 50th Anniversary SUN n FUN Aerospace Expo!
Weekly or single day tickets to the 2024 SUN n FUN Aerospace Expo along with pre-paid parking can be purchased online. Tickets can also be purchased in person upon arrival. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Detailed information about the fly-in can be found at www.flysnf.org. The Expo is SUN n FUN’s largest fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE), a 25-acre, 11 building campus dedicated to aerospace and STEM education. Approximately 200,000 guests, exhibitors, volunteers, sponsors, and performers are expected to attend the 2024 event.
