Publix Field At Joker Marchant Stadium Welcomes Detroit Tigers For Spring Training
LAKELAND, FL (March 14, 2022) | Full workouts began today for the Detroit Tigers, and it makes the 86th season for Spring Training at Tiger Town, extending the longest-standing relationship between a Major League team and a current Spring Training host community. The 2022 Spring Training season will be the club’s 57th consecutive season of playing at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.
Director of Parks & Recreation, Bob Donahay said, “We are so excited the 2022 Grapefruit League season will take place and we the complex at Tiger Town is ready for the players and the fans. There will be an abbreviated schedule this spring with the first game happening Friday, March 18th against the Phillies.”
The Detroit Tigers will play 19 Grapefruit League games this spring season that includes 10 home games. The condensed spring training schedule begins with a March 18th home game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, followed by a trip to Bradenton for a March 19th clash with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
