LAKELAND, FL (October 28, 2021) | On Tuesday, November 2^nd starting at 7 p.m., a contractor working for the City of Lakeland Wastewater Collection Division will be performing a sewer repair to seal off groundwater leakage into the sewer main beneath Chiles Street. The area where work will be done is adjacent to the Main Library and the Polk Museum of Art off Lake Morton.

LAKELAND, FL (November 1, 2021) | The City of Lakeland recently started the Main Street Pathway project that includes the construction of a 10-foot-wide asphalt multi-use trail on the south side of Main Street between Interlachen Parkway and Longfellow Boulevard.  The project scope includes the installation of ADA-deployment and bench pads for six Citrus Connection mass transit stops along the way.  The project also includes updated traffic signalization at the Longfellow Boulevard intersection.

LAKELAND, FL (October 28, 2021) | The ongoing Lakeland Park Drive Connector project is halfway through completion. On November 11^th, 2021, the project contractor, QGS Development will close Carpenters Way for a duration of three months between November 11, 2021 – February 10, 2022.

LAKELAND, FL (October 8, 2021) | The first Canned Tuna Concert that was originally scheduled for September 17^th was rescheduled to Friday, October 22^nd because of inclement weather.  The first show will feature local favorite Dan Signor from 6 – 8 p.m.  The quarterly music series will happen in Munn Park and those attending are invited to bring a can of tuna or another non-perishable food item to benefit Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE).  The eclectic Canned Tuna series includes all genres of music representing folk, rock, funk and even some southern twang.

LAKELAND, FL (October 8, 2022) | The City of Lakeland Parks Division will be on Lake Morton at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19^th for the 41^st Annual Swan Roundup. Parks & Recreation employees will be carefully gathering the swans to get them ready for their annual veterinary check-up. The swans will be confined in large holding pens on the south side of the lake for their annual wellness examinations with My Pet’s Animal Hospital that will start the morning of October 20^th at 8:00 a.m. The Annual Swan Round-Up allows the City’s Parks and Recreation Department to closely monitor the health and vitality of Lakeland’s swan population.
