LAKELAND, FL (March 24, 2022) | The 22^nd Annual Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition is on display along the Lemon Street Promenade and Lakeland Public Library.  The sculptures have all been installed and will be on display now through the end of 2022.  The community is encouraged to vote for their favorite sculpture by visiting the People’s Choice web page at https://bit.ly/2022FLOSCPeoplesChoice or through the City’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/media/set?vanity=LakelandGov&set=a.337867778369948.

LAKELAND, FL (March 24, 2022) | The City of Lakeland invites you to join us for First Light Yoga in Hollis Garden. The Parks & Recreation Department has teamed up with yoga studios in the community to provide a series of free yoga classes in one of Lakeland’s most serene locations. Participants are recommended to bring their own yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing. Minors must be at least 14 years of age to participate and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The first yoga session at Hollis Garden will feature Yoga Pointe leading the class on Saturday, April 9^th at 9 a.m.  Registration will be the day of the event at 8:30 a.m.

LAKLAND, FL (March 21, 2022) | The Lakeland Park Drive Connector roadway project was recently awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Ridge Branch Project of the Year. The project was recognized by the ASCE because of the challenges associated with building the road through a wetland and the elevation solutions needed to connect to Carpenters Way.

LAKELAND, FL (March 14, 2022) | Full workouts began today for the Detroit Tigers, and it makes the 86^th season for Spring Training at Tiger Town, extending the longest-standing relationship between a Major League team and a current Spring Training host community.  The 2022 Spring Training season will be the club’s 57^th consecutive season of playing at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. 

LAKELAND, FL (March 10, 2022) | Se7en Wetlands recently received the 2022 Community Water Champion Award at the 37^th Annual WateReuse Symposium. This national award recognizes the accomplishments of utilities and local government entities that ensure safe, reliable, locally controlled water supply through the development of water recycling treatment facilities, infrastructure, and other reuse projects. Se7en Wetlands is operated by the City’s Water Department, but it also serves as a recreational amenity.
