LAKELAND, FL (June 8, 2020) – Munn Park in downtown Lakeland will be the destination for the One Heart Community Faith Rally on Thursday, June 11^th starting at 6:30 p.m.

LAKELAND, FL (June 4, 2020) | The organizers for Black Lives Matter Polk have successfully submitted an event request form with the City of Lakeland to hold a protest march on Sunday, June 7^th starting at 2:30 p.m. The march will start at Lakewood Terrace Apartments on 14^th Street and will ultimately end at Munn Park, traveling approximately three miles to the final destination.  Another group will start at Webster Park, 1255 Webster Avenue, and join the protest march at 10^th Street.

UPDATE: On May 31, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a traffic crash involving two vehicles near the 4100 block of New Tampa Highway. According to reports, a 2002 Buick was traveling eastbound, and a 2017 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound. LAKELAND, FL (June 2, 2020) | Following the direction from Governor DeSantis’ Office and Executive Order 20-131, the City of Lakeland will continue a phased reopening of Park spaces.

LAKELAND, FL (June 2, 2020) | Peter Lugo, Co-Founder and President of Lugo’s Craft Spirits, LLC will be donating 400 personal bottles of hand sanitizer to the City of Lakeland On Wednesday, June 3^rd at 10 a.m. Mayor Bill Mutz and other City officials will accept the donation that will be used as facilities start to re-open to the public. Lugo's Craft Spirits is a family-owned and operated distillery in the heart of Lakeland that specializes in developing craft rum spirits. During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the company started producing hand sanitizer as a way to assist in meeting the high demand for the product. 

LAKELAND, FL (June 1, 2020) – The Lakeland City Commission voted unanimously to instill a City-wide curfew mirroring the Polk County Sheriff Department’s curfew that goes into effect at 8 p.m. this evening and expires at 5 a.m. in on the morning of June 2^nd.
