LAKELAND, FL (October 15, 2020) | Due to overwhelming interest in the upcoming Swan Sale, the City of Lakeland will be holding a lottery tomorrow (10/16) at 11 a.m. to randomly select individuals who are interested in purchasing a pair of the City’s swans at $400 per swan.
LAKELAND, FL (October 14, 2020) | There will be modifications to the City’s downtown parking starting Monday, October 19th with the most notable changes taking place around Lake Mirror. The City’s parking team recently met with downtown stakeholders and that meeting sparked a planning session with the goal to generate additional parking uses in front of the Joinery, the new Catapult facility, and the Lake Mirror Complex.
LAKELAND, FL (October 9, 2020) | The Lakeland City Commission narrowed the list of City Manager candidates to three finalists during a meeting on October 9th. The search firm GovHR lead by Heidi Voorees originally provided a list of 16 candidates recommended for further consideration in the hiring process. The Commission then narrowed that list to six candidates that eventually turned into four semi-finalist candidates after Edward Phillips and Michael Moore bot dropped out after accepting positions elsewhere.

LAKELAND, FL (October 6, 2020) | The City of Lakeland’s Mask/Face Covering Resolution expired Monday, October 5th at 5 p.m. The item was not placed on the October 5th City Commission meeting agenda for discussion and/or a vote so it expired at 5 p.m. Mayor Bill Mutz said, “Even though the City’s Mask/Face-Covering resolution expired, we still strongly encourage Lakeland area residents to wear a face-covering as the first line of defense in helping curb the spread of the coronavirus.”
