City of Lakeland Will Accept Hand Sanitizer Donation from Lakeland-Based Distiller

LAKELAND, FL (June 2, 2020) | Peter Lugo, Co-Founder and President of Lugo’s Craft Spirits, LLC will be donating 400 personal bottles of hand sanitizer to the City of Lakeland On Wednesday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. Mayor Bill Mutz and other City officials will accept the donation that will be used as facilities start to re-open to the public. Lugo's Craft Spirits is a family-owned and operated distillery in the heart of Lakeland that specializes in developing craft rum spirits. During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, the company started producing hand sanitizer as a way to assist in meeting the high demand for the product. 

Lugo said, “Lugo’s Craft Spirits is honored to be part of this great city of Lakeland and truly enjoy giving back to our community. Nothing makes us more proud than to work with our city to make Lakeland a vibrant place to live and work in. We are privileged to donate 400 bottles of hand sanitizers we produced at our distillery to help keep our City officials and emergency responders safe from the health hazards that exist today." Mayor Mutz said, “We are extremely grateful for this donation that will assist our workers and visitors in meeting the safety protocols set in place to help combat the spreading of the coronavirus.  Lakeland is fortunate to have such great partners and local businesses that contribute to the health and vitality of the community.” The photo opportunity will take place in front of City Hall, located at 228 South Massachusetts Avenue.
