Do The Right Thing

Help us Find Kids Who "Do The Right Thing"

On three occasions each year, Lakeland Police Department honors children in our community who distinguish themselves by their exemplary behavior. We need your help. If you know a child whose accomplishment, attitude, or outstanding effort makes them a positive role model for their peers, please nominate them.

Nominations are received by Officer Lori Edwards. Names and other personal information that would identify the students is redacted from the nominations before they are sent to Do The Right Thing committee members for review. Each committee member will review the nominations and send them back to Officer Edwards in the order they select for winners. All nominations are tallied and the top winners are honored in an official ceremony at the Lakeland Police Department where they receive an official medal and other awards.

In May of each year, all Do The Right Thing winners are invited to a special ceremony.

Nominations are currently closed.
