Setting up - Using the Software that came with your Card

ORiNOCO or Enterasys
On the bottom right corner of your desktop, near the click, you will see the Client Manager icon
Once open, you will be presented with the Client Manager screen. Click Next.
Click Actions, then Add/Edit Configuration Profile. Click Next.
If you already have a profile set up, select it from the list. Otherwise, click on Add.Click Next.
For profile name, type in SurfLakeland Hotspot.
For Network Type, select Access Point. Click Next.
For Network Name, type in surflakeland Click Next.
Remove any check mark in Enable Data Security. Click Next.
You can set the power management feature however you would like. Click Next.
Place a check in Renew IP Address when selecting this profile, then click finish.

Cisco
Double click on the Aironet Client Utility icon on your desktop
Or go to Start, Settings, then Control Panel, then double-click on the Aironet Client Utility.
The Profile Manager Screen Should appear.
Click Add.
Enter surflakeland for the name of the new profile.
Press Enter, the properties screen will appear with the name of your new profile in parentheses.
Type in a name for your workstation in Client Name. For SSID, enter surflakeland. Click OK, then click OK again.
Open your Internet Explorer and complete the steps that appear on the screen to log on.

D-Link Airplus Xtreme
To open the D-Link AirPlus Xtreme Wireless Utility, double-click on the D-Link Airplus Xtreme icon in the System Tray (by the clock)

Click on Configuration
Type in surflakeland as the SSID.
The channel should be automatically set.
Set the Wireless Mode to Infrastructure
Set the Transmission (Tx) Rate to 1.
For powermode, if your laptop is plugged in, select Continuous Access Mode, if you are concerned about conserving power (on battery), select Power Save or Maximum Power Save
Click Apply

Netgear
Open the Netgear Wireless Configuration Utility (an icon will usually be on the desktop, control panel, or in the start menu).
If you are using Windows XP, a Disable Windows XP Configuration Manager will appear. Click yes to disable Windows XP Configuration Manager, if you wish to use the XP manager, click No.
The Configuration section should appear.
Choose Infrastructure (Access Point).
For Network SSID type in surflakeland
Leave all other settings at default.
Click OK.
