The Lakeland Police Department is responsible for the delivery of law enforcement services to a city encompassing more than 74 square miles and 93,500 residents. Lakeland enjoys a low crime rate that is directly attributable to quality employees, progressive programs, state of the art equipment, the strong support of the city management and City Commission, community partnerships, and a commitment to problem solving.
The Lakeland Police Department is proud to hold dual accreditation status: internationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies since 1994; and accredited by the Florida Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. since 1999.
