Library Holiday Hours

All three Lakeland Library locations will CLOSE early at 5 PM on Wednesday, December 31st and remain closed Thursday, January 1st for the New Year's holiday.

We will reopen Friday, January 2nd at 9 AM.

Youth Intermediate Sewing Saturday on January 10th at Main Library

We've got sewing machine basics, where can we go? Join us on Saturday, January 10th at 10:00 am at the Lakeland Public Library for projects to sew!

Older kids and teens ages 9-17 who have taken our Spools Out for Summer sewing series or have hands-on experience using a sewing machine independently are invited to join us for a free 90-minute class. Sewing Saturday is limited to eight (8) participants and registration is required. Each participant must be registered separately.

January's Project: Quilt-as-you-go Fabric Heart

**Please note, this is not an introduction to sewing or sewing machines. Students need to have some basic experience using a sewing machines to participate.**

Reflective Journaling Workshop

Join us on Thursday, January 8th at 5:30 PM in the Commons at the Lakeland Public Library for a guided journaling circle and hands-on journaling class focused on the art of reflection. Discover simple, meaningful techniques for reducing stress with guidance from Onyx Jade Coaching, a local Central Florida self-help coaching business. Bring your ideas, an open mind, and your creativity, and get ready to reflect and recharge. All supplies will be provided.

Registration is required and opens Friday, January 2nd at 4:30 PM. This event is for ages 18+.

Preschool Storytimes at Lakeland Libraries

All three Lakeland Library locations have preschool storytimes for children ages 2-5 and their grownups! With stories, songs, rhymes, and activities, storytimes promote the development of preliteracy, verbal and listening skills, and socio-emotional skills.
