    Libraries Closed Monday, November 11th

    All three Lakeland Library locations will be CLOSED Monday, November 11th for the Veterans Day holiday.

    We will reopen Tuesday, November 12th at 9 AM.

    Lakeland History & Culture Center Lecture Series

    Join us at the Lakeland Public Library on Thursday, November 7th at 5:30 PM as Richard A. Fifer presents "Life In a Phosphate Town."

    Richard A. Fifer, who lived in the phosphate mining town of Pierce until age 8, when his family moved to Lakeland, shares his personal memories and extensive research on the phosphate industry of Central Florida through presentations and numerous written publications. He serves on the Board of Polk County Historical Association and on the Polk County Historical Commission.

    No registration required.

    Crafty Creations

    Join us on Wednesday, November 13th from 5 pm to 6 pm in the Lakeland History Room at Lakeland Public Library to get ready for the holiday season by creating your own festive gift box using decorative scrapbook paper. These charming paper boxes make excellent gift containers and delightful decorations to place under the tree. All supplies will be provided.

    This event is for ages 18+. Registration is required and opens at 5 PM on Wednesday, November 6th.
