
| | Back | | Clanton Clayton worked in the first National Bank of Lakeland when the president of the bank, Columbus Deen, built his home at Success and McDonald in 1912. Clayton built a similar style home nearby at the corner of South Boulevard and Charles Street a year or two later. Ironically, Dr. Thomas Causey, who ran a private hospital and sanitarium in the former Deen house in the mid 1930's, resided in the former Clayton house in 1937. |
