Summer Reading Programs 2026

Join us for a dino-mite time during our Summer at the Museum and roar into summer reading! Explore the possibilities with a summer of challenges, crafts, prizes, and new discoveries!

June 1st - July 24th

Children ages 0-12 can participate in the Kids' Summer Reading Program, "Reading Roars!" for prehistoric adventures.
Adults and teens ages 13+ can register for the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Program, "Summer at the Museum" and journey through the galleries to explore the world from prehistory to the edge of tomorrow.

Adventurer's Guild RPG

Dungeon-crawling, dragon-slaying, dice-rolling fun for ages 13-17! Join us on Friday, June 5th at 3 PM in the Commons at the Lakeland Public Library for a role playing game where you can play your character in a fantasy setting. Beginners welcome. All materials provided.

No registration required.

Junk Journal Workshop

Drowning in a sea of stuff you can't bear to toss? Dive into our Junk Journal Workshop and transform your junk into a dazzling keepsake! Join us on Wednesday, June 3rd from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Commons at Lakeland Public Library and bring along your mementos, pics, notebook/journal, and a splash of creativity. During this two-hour program, you’ll have time to sort, reflect, and reimagine your items into something meaningful. Get ready to junk journal your heart out!

No registration required. This event is for ages 18+.
