LAKELAND'S EARLY CHURCHES
| | MT. PLEASANT AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH |

| | Back | | Parishioners pose in front of the Mount Pleasant AME Church in the 1940's. The church was located on the corner of South Ohio and West Orange in Moorehead and was the second church to be built in the area, following St. John's. It was razed to make way for the Lakeland Civic Center in the early 1970's. |
