    Libraries Closed Monday, November 11th

    All three Lakeland Library locations will be CLOSED Monday, November 11th for the Veterans Day holiday.

    We will reopen Tuesday, November 12th at 9 AM.

    Get ready to rewind back to the 1980s with the Lake Willock High gang for a reunion like no other! Due to a regrettable prank that led to the cancellation of the senior prom, the LWHS class of ’84 is throwing a reunion and prom do-over to die for. Dust off those shoulder pads and tease up that big hair because we're in for a killer night of fun, burying the homecoming blunder of '84 once and for all!

    Join us on Saturday, November 9th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Lakeland Public Library for this interactive murder mystery event. Chat with suspects, hunt for clues, and challenge yourself to crack the case. Think you have what it takes to unmask the villain before the clock strikes? Let the investigation begin!

    This event is for ages 18 and up.  Registration is required and will open Saturday, November 2nd at 6 PM.  Individuals and teams welcome.  Teams must be no larger than 4 people.  Everyone in your team must register.

    Please arrive on time, as this is an after-hours event.  Doors will open at 5:45 pm, and once the they are closed at 6 pm, admittance will not be permitted.

    Lakeland History & Culture Center Lecture Series

    Join us at the Lakeland Public Library on Thursday, November 7th at 5:30 PM as Richard A. Fifer presents "Life In a Phosphate Town."

    Richard A. Fifer, who lived in the phosphate mining town of Pierce until age 8, when his family moved to Lakeland, shares his personal memories and extensive research on the phosphate industry of Central Florida through presentations and numerous written publications. He serves on the Board of Polk County Historical Association and on the Polk County Historical Commission.

    No registration required.
